I am Fadi Al-Hashimi, an artist whose soul is rooted in two homelands—Iraq, the land I revere like a father, and Ukraine, the embrace I cherish like a mother. Both nations pulse within me with equal love, shaping my identity as both my foundation and my wings. My artistic odyssey began in Iraq, where I honed my craft at the Institute of Fine Arts, earning a High Diploma in Theatrical Direction, followed by a Bachelor’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts. Leading a theater troupe alongside friends who have since become luminaries in Iraq’s cultural scene, I discovered that my passion for storytelling transcended borders.

Drawn by dreams to Ukraine, I found a nurturing home that fueled my creativity. At Kharkiv University’s Academy of Culture, I pursued Cinematic and Television Direction, graduating with distinction. It was here, armed with little more than a Canon camera and boundless determination, that I created The Mother —a poignant short film exploring the resilience of motherhood amidst the scars of war. This work earned international acclaim, including recognition at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where I received a special invitation from its director. Ukraine witnessed my creative peak before the storms of conflict stripped me of everything.

Seeking solace and new beginnings, I arrived in Denmark—a nation whose people welcomed me with unparalleled kindness and humanity. Their generosity reignited my spirit, inspiring me to give back through my art. With over 20 years of experience spanning theater, television, cinema, and photography, I bring a wealth of expertise to every project. Photography, however, remains my first love—a medium through which I capture not just images but emotions, stories, and timeless memories.

Despite seeking opportunities with established production companies, I found their focus on profit overshadowed the human essence of storytelling—a philosophy I hold sacred.
